Hello and welcome to Nelly’s Nursery at Lancaster Avenue.
My name is Heather Stallard and I’m the Nursery Manager here.
Working in and developing early years practice is something that I have always been passionate about. I have been volunteering and working in childcare since I was 16 in a variety of different roles and settings - both in and out of London - from play schemes to schools, nurseries and with special needs children. Along the way I've completed a Bachelors Degree in Early Years, and just finished my Masters Degree in Early Years Professional Practice.
One of the things that I enjoy most about being a manager is working not just with the children, but with our staff team too, and seeing them develop in their job roles as practitioners. I get to nurture the children in our care and watch them develop, build confidence and grow – and also get to work with incredibly caring, passionate and giving colleagues, helping to mould them into a team capable of amazing things.
Lancaster Avenue Nursery
What makes us special as a nursery is our outdoor play space. We are fortunate to have such a large garden complete with a huge sandpit, vegetable patch, mud kitchen, lawn and decking area - all the while keeping a natural feel with lots of plants and trees. The children have constant access to our outdoor area, able to choose at all times whether they’d like to be indoors or outdoors, which contributes positively to children's behaviour, development and wellbeing.
Our nursery is a large detached Victorian property, which has been carefully refurbished and equipped to a high standard, with generously proportioned rooms for babies and toddlers aged 3 months to approximately 24 months; and our older children - aged 2, 3 and 4 years old.
